GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people andorganizations to transform their communities and the world. Taking place after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday is often referred to as the “opening day of the giving season”.

As we celebrate its 40th year in 2025, the YMCA Women of Excellence Awards continues to be a unique and inspiring celebration hosted every two years by YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. Nominations for the 2025 YMCA Women of Excellence honourees are now open and will close on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.  

In a heartwarming show of community support, YMCA Southwestern Ontario (YSWO) extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the first-ever Jordan’s Run the Runway event series in 2024. Held at three airport locations—Chatham, Sarnia, and London—this unique event brought together hundreds of participants who ran, walked, and rolled through a 5K course.

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario proudly announces the near completion of the highly anticipated expansion of the Stoney Creek Community Centre, YMCA & Library (920 Sunningdale Road East, London, ON). This project, which officially began construction nearly a year ago, culminated in a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 22, 2024.

Big news! YMCA of Southwestern Ontario (YSWO) is excited to share that we’ve expanded our reach to include all Children’s Aid Society (CAS) families throughout the region. With the addition of Family and Children Services of St. Thomas and Elgin, we're now providing access to YMCA programs for children and families in every corner of Southwestern Ontario.

Meghna (pictured on left) is an Early Childhood Educator at a one of our Sarnia YMCA Child Care Centres. She shares that the Y welcomes international students when others do not, making it feel like home. It’s true - at the Y, we wholeheartedly believe that everyone belongs—whether you're staff, a volunteer, a member, or a program participant.
