$149,700 OTF Grant Supports a Resilient YMCA
In 2021, the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario received a $149,700 Resilient Communities grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to transform fundraising initiatives and introduce member-focused technology in an effort to recover and rebuild after COVID-19. The project will improve member experience at the YMCA and help with adjusting to the changing landscape of fundraising during and throughout the recovery of COVID-19.
“The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario supports happier, healthier families with services that strengthen communities and improve quality of life for individuals. By enabling continued innovation and improvements in member communication and fundraising as our province rebuilds from COVID-19, this grant will help maintain and grow the Y’s vital programming for families, children and newcomers across our region for years to come.” - Peggy Sattler, MPP, London West.
In addition to supporting fundraising efforts, this new technology is helping the Y adapt communications to allow for a more personalized experience for our members and participants. Thanks to the $149,700 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the YMCA is able to re-imagine its delivery of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
"As we recover from the pandemic – we are more driven than ever to serve our communities and their changing needs,” said Andrew Lockie, CEO of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. “With this funding, we are able to adapt key communications and fundraising tools to support the recovery of our Y and to keep our community strong, healthy and thriving.”
