Y HEROES: Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educators

October 21 is Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day. We take this day to recognize the commitment, hard work and dedication of ECE's and staff who work with young children. At the Y, we believe our educators are HEROES:

Humble
Extraordinary
Responsible
Outstanding
Excellent
Selfless

Over the past few years, the landscape has changed in our Children's Educational Centres and we recognize our educators and staff have been incredibly creative in adapting their programming. This day, and every day, we acknowledge the valuable work our Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educators are doing in caring for tomorrow's leaders. We truly admire their dedication and how they continue to adapt to ongoing changes in caring for our children. This is WHY we believe our Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educators are Y HEROES.

Families also believe our educators are Y HEROES:

"We cannot express how grateful we are for the great care and guidance offered to our little ones on a daily basis. You are their home away from home. We are so thankful for such a nurturing and educational environment. Thank you all so much for everything you do and for putting the 'CARE' in child care!"

"Your outstanding care, efforts, support and commitment is truly appreciated. It takes a big heart and a lot of patience to do what you do every day! ?"

"Thanks so much for all you do to keep the children happy and healthy. My daughter looks forward to going to child care every day and has a smile on her face when we pick her up and that's because of you. ?"

Let your Y Educator know what makes them a Hero. Print this sheet, fill it out, and return it to your centre this week.

Our YMCA operates over 100 locations in Southwestern Ontario providing experienced, quality services including full-day child care, before and after school programs, community school programs, family resource centres, and more. It is in these programs that children learn the values and skills that are the vital building blocks to their growth and development. Our experienced professionals provide an enriched learning environment that allows children to discover, explore, and play, while also building strong connections and supports for families.
