In a heartwarming show of community support, YMCA Southwestern Ontario (YSWO) extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the first-ever Jordan’s Run the Runway event series in 2024. Held at three airport locations—Chatham, Sarnia, and London—this unique event brought together hundreds of participants who ran, walked, and rolled through a 5K course. Thanks to the generous support from participants, sponsors, volunteers, and cheering spectators, YSWO raised crucial funds that will directly benefit community members.
The funds raised will support the YMCA’s financial assistance program, providing everyone—regardless of financial circumstances—access to YMCA camps, programs, and services. The events were very successful, with each location contributing significantly: the Chatham event raised close to $15,000, Sarnia’s event topped $18,000, and the London run raised a remarkable $150,000. Collectively, this incredible accomplishment highlights the generosity and enthusiasm of our communities.
“We couldn’t have done it without each and every person who took part,” said Christina Harley, VP of Development, YSWO. “From runners and walkers to sponsors and volunteers, every single contribution made this event series an incredible success.”
Each run was capped off with a lively post-event celebration held in the airport hangar, where participants and their families’ enjoyed refreshments and camaraderie. For many, this unique setting in the airport added to the memorable experience and created an atmosphere of celebration and community spirit. YSWO looks forward to continuing this exciting Jordan’s Run the Runway event series and is grateful for the overwhelming support from the community.
