Man and Women helping plant a community garden

MONDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2019

The city of Windsor and Essex County welcomes more than 2,000 newcomers each year -- in fact, one in four people living in Windsor is a newcomer. With that in mind, the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario’s Windsor Learning Centre is leading an innovative, community-driven pilot project called The WE Value Partnership (www.wevalue.ca). On November 28, after 15 months of preparation and development, the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)-funded partnership officially launched publicly!

WE Value streamlines the intake process and supports successful settlement outcomes through collaboration with more than 50 local partner organizations. The project’s clients receive a tailored ‘Pathway to Settlement Plan’ that outlines supportive programs, services, and activities based on programs entered by agencies into the partner-maintained community portal.

For more information on the project, check out the WE Value monthly updates at www.wevalue.ca or contact Hugo Vega, Regional Manager of Settlement & Integration Services for the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.
