Advanced Aquatics & Lifesaving Courses

Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid/CPR "C" (full certification)

This course meets WSIB standards for first aid and is designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of First Aid and CPR.

Dates: Saturday, September 8 & Sunday, September 9, 2018
Times: 8:30am - 5:00pm both days

More dates will be posted here as they are confirmed.

Members: $126.00 / Non-Members: $148.00 plus applicable taxes
Manual: $18.00 plus applicable taxes

If your group or organization requires First Aid/CPR and would like to set up your own course, please contact the Aquatic Supervisor at 519-360-9622 ext 108. A minimum of 8 participants is needed to run a course.

Bronze Medallion & Emergency First Aid/CPR “B” (Ages 13+)

The Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Medallion Award teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education – judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness. Rescuers learn tows, carries and defense / release methods in preparation for rescues of conscious and unconscious victims. Lifesavers also develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a timed swim. 100% attendance is required.

Pre-Requisite: Minimum 13 years old or Bronze Star
Dates: Tuesday's - October 23 to December 4, 2018, with exam on Tuesday, December 11, 2018
Time: 5:30 - 9:30pm

Members: $129.00 / Non-Members: $172.25 plus applicable taxes
Canadian Lifesaving Manual required: $52.50 plus applicable taxes

Bronze Cross

Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for further advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certification. 100% attendance is required.

Pre-Requisite: Bronze Medallion & Emergency First Aid & CPR “B”
Dates: Sunday's - September 16 to October 7, 2018, with exam on Sunday, October 14, 2018
Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm

Members: $120.75 / Non-Members: $162.75 plus applicable taxes
Canadian Lifesaving Manual required (same manual as Bronze Medallion)

National Lifeguard Service (NLS) (Ages 16+)

National Lifeguard Service is a nationally recognized lifeguard certification program. National Lifeguard Service is a legal certificate for lifeguarding throughout the country, and the only lifeguard certificate recognized by the province of Ontario. 100% attendance is required.

Pre-Requisites: 16 years by exam date, Bronze Cross Certified, Standard 1st Aid & CPR-C (current within 2 years)

Dates: Sunday's - November 4 to December 2, 2018, with exam on Sunday, December 9, 2018
Time: 9:00am - 6:00pm

Members: $252.00 / Non-Members: $295.00 plus applicable taxes
Alert Manual required: $52.50 plus applicable taxes

NLS Recertification

Pre-Requisites: Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service certificate (need not be current), Standard 1st Aid & CPR-C (current within 2 years)
Date: Sunday, November 25, 2018
Time: 1:00-6:00pm

Members: $69.00 / Non-Members: $81.00 plus applicable taxes

Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Course

Be trained to lead children's swim lessons to the Lifesaving Society standard. 100% attendance is required.

Pre-Requisites: 16 years by end of course, Bronze Cross Certified, Standard 1st Aid & CPR-C (current within 2 years)

Dates & Times:
Friday, October 19, 2018 @ 5:00-9:00pm
Saturday, October 20, 2018 @ 9:00-6:00pm
Sunday, October 21, 2018 @ 9:00-6:00pm

Members: $200.00 / Non-Members: $250.00 plus applicable taxes
Lifesaving Society Swim School Manual required: $60.00 plus applicable taxes
