Preschool & Youth Programs

Preschool Playground (Ages 18 months - 5 years)

An unstructured program for parents to play with their child in the gym using a variety of equipment. *Parents must accompany their child.

Members: No Charge
Non-Members: welcome with purchase of child guest pass

Little Rascals
(Ages 18 months – 5 years)

An unstructured program where parents can spend time playing in the gym with a wide variety of equipment including balls, hoops, mats, tunnels, parachute and more.  This program is designed for the toddler who cannot sit still. 

Play Care (Ages 3 months–7 years)

This is a child minding service for members and guests who need require care for their children while in the facility working out.
Children will play with toys, make crafts and play games under the careful supervision of staff.

Child membership or family membership: No charge
Non members: $4.00 per child

Pre School Dance
(Ages 3-5 years)

This introductory dance class encourages each child’s love for movement, builds self confidence and co-ordination and helps children develop self awareness.  This class includes a variety of dance techniques, songs, games and exercises.  

Members: No Charge
Non-Members: $85




Awesome Art (Ages 9-12)

Create awesome multiweek projects that include painting, string art and more.

Members: $30
Non-Members: $60

Basketball (Ages 6–12 years)

A non-competitive, recreational program that encourages teamwork, fair play and skill development.

Members: No charge
Non members: $50

Dance Combo (Ages 6–12 years)

A beginner class where dancers will learn a variety of dance disciplines through the use of upbeat music.

Members: No charge
Non members: $85

Game On! (All ages)

This program provides an opportunity for those with disabilities to participate in different organized sports.
The program includes gym time, crafts, swimming and other activities.

Members: No charge
Non members: $66

Music Makers (Ages 6-8)

Create instruments and use them to make new and unique sounds while learning the basics of music

Silly Science (Ages 6-8 years)

Become a Y Silly Scientist and learn fun experiments through hands on activities.

Stronger Kidz (Ages 10–14 years)

This program is geared towards strengthening pre teens knowledge of nutrition, fitness goals and overall wellness.
The program will be split between application based learning and a full body workout. Registration required.

Members: no charge
Non Members: Welcome with purchase of guest pass

Wellness Access for Youth (Ages 10 - 13 yrs)

When youth participate in physical activities with family it strengthens potential for healthier lifestyles long term.
Youth ages 10-13 may access the Wellness Centre with a parent and/or guardian 16 years of age or older after completing an orientation with a wellness staff member.

Youth orientation is similar to the adult orientation (ensure a safe and balanced program), except a parent and/or guardian MUST be present. Please see a wellness staff member to set up an orientation. After receiving the orientation, youth ages 10-13 must always be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian 16 years of age or older when accessing the Wellness Centre.

Youth that are 14 years old may access the Wellness Centre without a parent or guardian. Please note any youth between the ages of 12-15 years are encouraged to meet with a Wellness Coach to learn how to safely use the wellness equipment and and have a personalized fitness program developed.

Teen Friday Nights (Ages 13-17)

Teen Nights will provide a safe and welcoming space where youth can interact with peers and explore what the Y has to offer. Teen nights are about spaces-open and welcoming - not programming. This program is open to members and non members. *Must bring ID - student card is acceptable

Canadian Safety Council Babysitting Course Ages 11 + (must be turning 12 years within the calendar year)

This course offers basic first aid and care giving skills for youth 11-15 years of age. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a
variety of age groups and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.
The course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents. Registration required.

9:00am - 3:00pm

Members: $54.00, includes manual
Non Members: $64.00, includes manual

Participants should bring a lunch. Lunch break will be supervised by staff.
Please note we must have a minimum of 8 participants to run this course.

Canadian Safety Council At Home Alone Course (Ages 10–12 years)

Is your child ready to stay at home alone? Empower children with confidence and skills to care for themselves when home alone.
Participants learn strategies to create a safe and positive environment, how to look after themselves for short periods of time, how to handle real life situations, injury prevention and basic first aid.
Registration required.

Date: Saturday, October 13
9:00am - 1:00pm

Members: $33.00, includes manual
Non Members: $43.00, includes manual
Please note we must have a minimum of 8 participants to run this course.
