PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS | YOUTH PROGRAMS | YOUTH ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
|Indoor Playground (Ages 1-10 yrs)
Drop in with the whole family and join your kids as they run, jump, climb and balance on a variety of age appropriate equipment.
* Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult or youth over the age of 14 years.
* Non-Members welcome with purchase of a Child Visitor Pass.
Kinder Gym & Swim Lesson (Ages 3-5 yrs)
This program is for preschoolers to explore movement through sports and games in a safe and friendly environment. Our gym program is followed by a L’il Dipper swim lesson that focuses on the skills to become comfortable and safe around water. Please meet your child on deck at the end of the program.

|Parent & Tot Swim (Under 6 yrs)
This program is for preschoolers and their parent/guardian to enjoy time together in the pool. This unstructured time can be used as a safe introduction to water, immersion, songs & play in a supervised setting. Parent-child ratio is 1:2
*Non-Members welcome with purchase of a Visitor Pass.
|Play Zone (Ages 3 mos+)
Take care of yourself and let our trained staff take care of your kids. Play Zone is a supervised drop-in program where your child will make new friends and have fun.
Members: no charge / Non-members: Visitor pass
* Parents/Guardians must remain in the building to accessthe Play Zone Service*
|Walk This Way: Walking and Talking Parenting Group (children of all ages)
What's more fun than to bring your children in strollers/baby carriers and walk the Goderich-Huron YMCA track, while chatting and getting to know other parents. All parents are welcome even if your children are in school! The Goderich YMCA staff will be joining in during your walks to do stroller-cise and some simple and fun exercising. Healthy snack and water provided. Wear comfy clothes and in door running shoes.
Starting October 25, 2018
Free to members and non-members. Government issued photo ID or YMCA Membership card required.
Program facilitated by Rural Response for Healthy Children.
|Drop in Basketball (13+ yrs)
Non-Competitive Basketball that encourages teamwork and fair play.
|Family Track Time
This time is designed for parents and children to walk together on our indoor track.
*Children must remain in supervision of someone 18+yrs .
|Flick and Float (Ages 7-12; must be able to pass the swim test to participate in the swim portion)
Come out and watch an age appropriate movie and enjoy our open swim! YMCA staff do not swim with children;
children must pass the swim test to participate in the open swim.
Snacks will be offered during movie time for purchase.
Parent/Guardian must sign child in and out of program with Valid Photo ID.

|Y Jr. Leaders Program (Ages 9-12 yrs)
Do you want to make new friends? Build your confidence and skills for the future? Help your community? Feel even better about yourself? If so, the YMCA Youth Leadership Program could be for you. Designed especially for youth between 9 and 12 years old, the program takes the best of today’s youth and helps them become the Leaders of Tomorrow.
Starting Winter 2019
Y-Kids (Ages 6-12)
Join us Saturday mornings in the gym for group games and active play. This program is for youth who are too old for our Playzone space. Parents/caregivers must remain in the building, please be sure to sign children in and out of program.
Members: No cost, Non-members $7.00 youth activity pass.
Youth must be signed in/out by an adult with valid photo id.
Join other youth aged 9-14 for a fun-filled workout of the day filled with cardiovascular exercises, strength training and functional movement. Wellness Coaches available to provide support and exercise assistance if needed.
|Wellness Access for Youth (Ages 10-13 yrs)
Youth Ages 10-13 may access the Wellness Centre with a parent and/or guardian (18 ) after completing an orientation with a Wellness Staff. Please note they may attend group fitness classes specified foryouth.
Orientation Includes:- Wellness staff will provide a personalized cardiovascular and strength training program which is provided to you on a TechnoGym Key
- Demonstrate how to use the equipment and answer questions
- Go over gym policy and etiquette
- Meet with you regularly to update your program to ensure personal progressions are achieved
- Parent MUST be present during the orientation
YOUTH ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
|Canadian Safety Council Babysitting Course (Ages 12+)
This course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 12-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents.
Registration Required - min group size 8
Members: $50.00, includes manual
Non-members: $65.00, includes manual
PD Days: 9:00am-2:00pm, choose one of two dates

|Canadian Safety Council Home Alone Course (Ages 10-12)
Is your child ready to stay at home alone? Empower children ages 10-12 years with confidence and skills to care for themselves when home alone! Participants learn strategies to create a safe and positive environment, how to look after themselves for short periods of time, now to handle real-life situations, injury prevention and basic first aid.
Registration Required - min group size 8
Members: $25.00, includes manual
Non-Members: $40.00, includes manual
PD Days: 9:00am-1:00pm, choose one of four dates
