Preschool & Youth Programs    

Please refer the to the Fall Program Schedules page for dates and times of preschool and youth programs (excluding youth enrichment programs). 



Indoor Playground (Ages 3 - 6 yrs)
Drop in with the whole family and join your kids as they run, jump, climb and balance on a variety of age appropriate equipment.
Location: Energy Zone
*Play Zone (Ages 3 months+)
Take care of yourself and let our trained staff take care of your kids. Play Zone is a supervised drop-in program where your child will make new friends and have fun.
Location: Play Zone
* Parents/Guardians must remain in the building to access Play Zone services. 2 hour limit daily.
Y Kinder Kids (Ages 3 - 5 yrs)
Our most popular program for kinder kids. The program includes a variety of activities, crafts, sports and active games each week.
Location: Multipurpose Room
Wee Fit (Ages 3 – 5 yrs)
In this 8-week program your little one will get the chance to grow and develop their fundamental movement skills through a variety of activities, obstacle courses and sports-based games.

Dates: Thursdays from 6:30pm – 7:30pm through October 4, 2018 – November 22, 2018

Y Sports (Ages 6 yrs+)
Come and join us to learn new sports including basketball, floor hockey, soccer, baseball, and more! A progressive skill-based program that helps develop and enhance fundamental movement skills. A specific sport is focused on each month!
Equipment provided.
Indoor shoes required.
Location: Gym A&B
Non-Members welcome with the purchase of a Visitor’s Pass.
Creative Minds (Ages 6-12 yrs)
This program offers children a chance to build, create and meet new friends through silly science, crafts, drama and engineering activities. Every 4 weeks the program changes to a new skill.
Supplies provided.
Location: Multi-Purpose Room
Non-Members welcome with the purchase of a Visitor’s Pass.
Gym & Swim (Ages 6 yrs+)
Play a variety of sports and group games in a safe and friendly environment, followed by a supervised swim.
Location: Gym A/B and pool
Non-members welcome with the purchase of a Visitor’s Pass.
Gym Games (Ages 6 - 12 yrs)
Missing your favourite high energy camp games? Come for an evening filled with the best of the best! 
Indoor shoes required
Location: Gym B & C
Non-Members welcome with the purchase of a Visitor’s Pass.
Y Kids (Ages 6 - 12 yrs)
Children can stay active with friends while participating in various gym games, sports and group activities.

Kids Night Out (Ages 6-12)
A weekly ritual with friends that includes a swim and a fun weekly themed activity. Bring a healthy peanut-free snack.
Location: Multi-Purpose Room/Leisure Pool
Members only.
Wellness Access for Youth (Ages 10 - 11 yrs)
When youth participate in physical activities with family it strengthens potential for healthier lifestyles long term. Youth ages 10-11 may access the Wellness Centre with a parent and/or guardian 16 years of age or older. The youth may access the cardio equipment only. The parent and/or guardian need to be engaged with the youth at all times.
Wellness Access for Youth (Ages 12 and 13)
Please note any youth between the ages of 12-13 years of age needs to take the Essentials for Youth Fitness program to learn how to safely use the wellness equipment, find out about the importance of nutrition and exercise, and have a personalized fitness program developed. You can register for this program at our front desk.
Wellness Access for Youth (Ages 14 and older)
Youth that are 14 years of age or older may access the Wellness Centre without a parent or guardian if they have completed an orientation with a wellness staff. Youth orientation is similar to the adult orientation and ensures a safe and balanced program.



At Home Alone First Aid Course (Ages 10 - 13 yrs)
This fun and active course helps prepare kids to be at home alone and how to respond to medical emergencies.

Registration Required - min. group size 8, max group size 15 Members: $30 / Non-Members: $45

Baby Sitters Course (Ages 12+ yrs)
Designed to increase confidence and provide hands on experience and skills needed to be a good babysitter. This course offers basic first aid and care giving skills for youth 12-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents.
