About the Run 

The YMCA CHOK International Bridge Race in support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is the YMCA's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds to provide YMCA opportunities for children, youth and families who otherwise could not afford the cost of participation.  This international event (10K Race) has runners starting in the United States, (Port Huron, MI) crossing the Bluewater Bridge and finishing in Canada (Sarnia, ON).  Also offered:

  • 5K Fun Run/Walk - for all ages
  • Free 1K Kids Run - for kids 12 and under (Canatara Park, Sarnia)  

 2019 Bridge Race Route




  • Start at South Entrance of Thomas Edison Parkway parking lot 
  • Head North on Thomas Edison Parkway 
  • Left turn on Elmwood St. 
  • Head Northwest on Pinegrove Ave. to the US ramp access 
  • Continue up ramp through Toll Booths and over the Bridge 
  • Once over the bridge stay right towards the Truck compound 
  • Pass through the large gate the starts right after the black gate has ended to Venetian Blvd. 
  • Left turn on Casino Blvd continue to the service lane after parking lot 
  • Right turn on Service Road towards the river 
  • Right turn around Casino bringing you onto the river path 
  • Run along river, under the Bridges and around the Water Treatment Plant 
  • Right turn on Fort Street (Sarnia Yacht Club) 
  • Left turn onto path 
  • Continue on path into Canatara Park, through Animal Farm parking lot 
  • Left turn around Lake Chipican 
  • Continue through to the FINISH LINE
