Adult Group Classes & Programs       

Aquafit
A water-based class that provides a wide variety of movements, giving you a cardiovascular workout using water as added resistance with less joint impact. Aquafit classes often incorporate strength components, core stability exercises and stretching. Suitable for all fitness levels with options and modifications provided for all levels of ability and intensity.
Basketball (16 years+)
Drop In, no registration required.
Boot Camp
A conditioning class incorporating interval based training, functional movement patterns, strength exercises, cardiovascular exercises and sport style drills. This total body workout is designed to help develop muscular strength, cardio endurance, flexibility and balance.
Cardio Fit
A multi- level workout joining high intensity and low impact movement, incorporating elements of strength, endurance, balance and flexibility.
Suitable for all levels and ages.
Cycle-fit
A cardiovascular fitness class held on indoor stationary bikes. Each participant can control their own workout, guided by the instructor through various levels of intensity. Motivating music and instructional cycling techniques are used to guide participants through all types of terrain: flats roads, hills, rough trails, interval drills, endurance work, speed training and more.
Fitness Instructor Training
If you enjoy fitness classes or training in the Wellness Centre and would like to motivate others to achieve a healthier lifestyle , become a nationally certified YMCA Fitness Leader.
Fit Walk
Contains all components of fitness in one class, including a long warm up then a variety of walking based drills, followed by muscular endurance exercises and flexibility. Helps to maintain bone density and reduce pain associated with arthritis. Options and modifications provided to suit all fitness levels and abilities.
Group Power®
A results-driven strength training workout utilizing an adjustable barbell, weight plates and body weight. Group Power combines traditional strength exercises with the hottest functional training moves to make you more fit and stronger. High-rep training, athletic movements and a periodized training approach are key components of the workout. Add to this dynamic and motivational music, and it simply is the most fun you’ll have strength training!
Muscle Works
A strength based workout aimed at conditioning the whole body using hand held weights, stability balls, body weight and other fitness equipment to provide variety in the workouts. This class focuses on muscular strength and endurance, and postural awareness. Emphasis on proper execution of movements, with options and modifications provided to suit all fitness levels and abilities.
Personal Training
Having a trainer during your workouts helps keep you motivated, safe and committed to exercising on a regular schedule.
A typical one hour session would include an individualized warm-up prior to your workout, a specifically designed program to meet your needs, abilities and goals, and proper stretching and cool down. Each session is packed full of education and guidance, allowing you to learn while getting a great workout.
YMCA trainers have YMCA Individual Conditioning Certificates and are highly qualified and experienced to help you meet your goals.

Prices range from $40.00-$60.00 per hour depending on the number of sessions purchased
Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.
Pilates
A way to improve your posture, align your body, gain strength and shape your muscles using the principles of core control, breathing and muscular integration. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes blend classical Pilates methods with props or light weights, with options and modifications provided, making Pilates suitable for all levels and abilities. Pilates is a challenging yet safe method of sculpting your body and feeling increased agility in everyday movements.
Social Cycle
A short, 30 minute, low intensity ride while participants are encouraged to chat and interact with one another. This class is more of a social gathering rather than a workout but members can still get SOME movement in by pedalling while they chat. Geared towards older adults, beginners, and social butterflies.
Muscle Works - Light
A modified version of traditional Muscle Works classes, geared towards beginners and older adults. A strength based workout aimed at conditioning your whole body using hand held weights, stability balls, body weight and other fitness equipment to provide variety in your workouts. This class focuses on muscular strength and endurance, and postural awareness. Emphasis on proper execution of movements, with options and modifications provided to suit all fitness levels and abilities.
Y Stretch
Designed with the older adult or beginner in mind, Y Stretch promotes muscle balance, flexibility and coordination. Benefits include increased range of motion, ease of completing activities of daily living, reduced tension and injury prevention.
Step
A cardio class involving powerful moves and hot choreography on The STEP, followed by core and flexibility exercises to give you a well-rounded workout. The STEP height can be adjusted for your own fitness level. Classes promote cardiovascular training with lots of variety using great music to keep you motivated.
Yoga
Energize, rejuvenate and strengthen yourself through Yoga. Based on traditional Yoga postures with a focus on mind-body awareness, strength, flexibility, breathing and relaxation techniques. Build strength, relieve stress and create balance in your mind and body. Please bring a mat.
Zumba
Ditch the workout and join the party! Perfect for anybody and everybody! Each Zumba class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on. Mixing low-intensity and high intensity moves for an interval style, calorie burning fitness dance party, Zumba incorporates Latin and World rhythms and movements for a dynamic, exciting, effective and fun fitness workout.
Pound & Bells
Try this 1 hour class a combination of Pound (drum sticks) & Kettle Bells. Find your inner Rock Star with this fun, energetic cardio interval class, using weight drumsticks that will target every muscle group and finish off using kettle bells for more resistance training.

Learn to Step
If you've always wanted to try a step class or just want to Learn more about it. This is the class for you. Learn the basic steps, how to use the equipment and proper form

Line Dancing
This low-impact class is perfect for anyone looking for a fun intro to cardio, with easy to follow moves and playlists full of old favorites. This makes Line Dancing ideal for older Adults, and members just getting started on their fitness journey or those trying to get back into the swing after some time off. But with optional variation, instructors can help more seasoned participants take the class up a notch to enjoy a heart-rate- boosting challenge.
