Volunteering at the YMCA
The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario relies on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers to help bring about lasting personal and social change in the community. Every hour spent volunteering with us translates into more smiles and the movement toward better health for our children, families and communities.
More than sharing your time and passion, volunteering with the YMCA is about the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people, building healthy communities and gaining valuable experience that can assist you in your own pursuits. Volunteers contribute their time, talents and experiences to help us mentor children and youth, instruct recreation programs, lead fitness exercises, welcome new Canadians, provide service awareness to the community, and much more with the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.
The YMCA offers a wide range of programs and services across Southwestern Ontario, with volunteer opportunities to match your skills, interests and schedule.
Due to the high volume of volunteer applications, it may take between 5-15 business days for a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario staff to contact you. We will only be able to contact people who we are moving forward with their volunteer application.

Process to Becoming a Volunteer
The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is dedicated to it’s staff and volunteers and is committed to bringing on team members who believe in our values, have a genuine interest in being a part of their community and are invested in creating a positive experience for others.
This process is to ensure that our Volunteers are a good fit for our Association, as well that we are a good fit for our Volunteers.
